On the weekend of November 5th and 6th many garden enthusiasts from the local community and broader area travelled by car and busloads to see the Millthorpe Ramble open gardens. People travelled from far and wide, including Sydney, Adelaide, Dubbo, Leeton, Tamworth, Gunnedah and Boorowa.

There were 10 gardens that could be seen, both smaller town gardens and broadacre gardens in the surrounding Millthorpe area. Many of the gardens had food, craft and plant stalls placed among the gardens, offering home grown treats and locally made products for the ramblers. On both Saturday and Sunday extra activities were held including a propagation workshop and composting workshop for keen gardeners. Australian Native Landscapes (ANL) took part in the propagation workshop which was held at garden number 2, owned by Bryan and Dawn Mobbs. On both days Bryan Mobbs and ANL staff members took part in teaching ramble participants the finer details of propagation.

On Sunday the ramble came alive with the presence of Costa from ABC’s ‘Gardening Australia’. Masses of people flocked to see the Gardening Australia host, as he too took part in the propagation workshop. The ramble exceeded numbers from previous years with Costa being a major draw card for many.

A huge thanks goes to the Millthorpe ramble committee for choosing ANL to par-take in the ramble and host the propagation workshop with Bryan Mobbs. Many thanks also goes to Bryan and Dawn for hosting ANL.
