How to plant and grow Grevillea

LONG FLOWERING NATIVE PLANT!

       

In the ‘Grevillea’ genus there are some 250 species of evergreen trees and shrubs classed in the Proteace family.

Variable in habit, height, foliage and flowers, most grevilleas are native with some exceptions originating from New Caledonia and Papua New Guinea.

How to plant Grevillea

Magnificent flowers in varied shapes and forms. Most have long flowering periods whilst some species have shorter but repetitive flowering seasons.

There is also an extensive Groundcover range (prostrate) suitable for most gardens and affective as moisture retention & weed suppression.
         

CULTIVATION OF GREVILLEAS:
POSITION AND SOIL

Grevilleas prefer full sun with good drainage.
Trim spent flowers regularly to encourage blooming, maintain shape and enhance overall growth habit. When planting use NATIVE SOIL MIX in the planting hole and water over a solution of SEASOL, POWERFEED, MAXICROP or UPLIFT to sustain root health and plant longevity.

FERTILISING GREVILLEAS

Fertilise your Grevillea during the growing season with an application of granular TROFORTE NATIVES, BRUNNINGS NATIVES, GARDEN GOLD NATIVES, OSMOCOTE NATIVES, HARVEST or soluble NITROSOL solution, they also respond well to small amounts of BLOOD’N’BONE.        

Another bonus feature of the Grevillea in your garden is its ability to attract Native Nectar Feeding Birds.
